This is luckily the only project I have started photography on and failed to complete. It was intended to be a very simple short film with only 2 female characters. I cast my then girlfriend (now wife) Amy as the lead and shot some of the opening scenes in our old apartment. I very much liked the concept, which was based aroud a real phenomenon of woman unable to concieve who were feigning pregnancy in order to get close to young unsuspecting mothers. They would then steal the newborn baby (cometimes inducing premature birth) and relocate to a new town. These women would go the extremes of carrying around fake ultrasound photos and telling their families and coworkers they were pregnant. I never felt the script was very strong and the simplicity of the project actually restricted me from ever finishing it. I never even got so far as to cast the second actress. The idea of casting Amy was that we could shoot scenes anytime but sometimes that much freedom breeds laziness. We shot scenes in winter 2006 right before casting began on "Antidote Seven" which I then become more involved with. I always meant to finish it and even considered trying it again as a simple project once we moved to New York together, but it never happened. After seeing the french horror film "Le Interior" I decided that the concept had been done much better than I could ever do. Also, since the script for"Dysphonia" deals with the concept of a pregnant girl as the heroinne, I'll be able to persue that elsewhere.
